The VP of Strategy supports all sales efforts with a combination of medical & life science company perspectives to help individual Business Development team members penetrate accounts more quickly, more broadly, and with more credibility and strategic alignment with their accounts' business goals. The VP of Strategy's primary role is to ensure the team can meet their individual and overall sales goals. A secondary role is to contribute to product development when necessary to win new business with Medivo's core assets, specifically the physician & patient distribution channels and the data analytics services. In addition, the VP of Strategy maintains key internal relationships with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Program Management, Product Development, IT, Legal, & Finance teams to ensure company awareness & focus on client needs and to support ongoing account growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on quarterly and annual quotas across entire life sciences BD team
  • Support the development of territory account plans with each BD individual, and individual strategies for each Condition and Brand
  • Identify client business strategies and communicate to BD account owner and senior management to maximize Medivo's alignment with client needs
  • Develop strategies for target accounts and brands to demonstrate Medivo's ability to drive brand value, incorporating medical knowledge and life science value propositions to differentiate Medivo and win new business
  • Collaborate with BD team members to deliver strategies for their requests for specific opportunities within their brands, and to help them identify new opportunities
  • Contact known life science staff members to introduce Medivo, the BD account owner, and generate new business
  • Attend meetings when BD team requires Strategy support, prioritized by account plans and size of the opportunity
  • Provide executive team updates each week on progress towards goals, critical needs from other internal groups, and access to all ongoing sales pipeline activity, proposals and contracts
  • Partner with internal PR team when sending out press releases, newsletters, and conference events
  • Use Google Documents/email/Calendar, Webex, Powerpoint, Excel to manage daily internal and external workflow, communications, & reporting



  • Ability to partner with BD staff, prioritize requests, engage in positive internal stakeholder collaborations, and deliver on the company's overall sales goals
  • Combined Medical & Life Science company understanding of how Medivo's physician & patient services, data analytics, and clinical services can be used to drive brand value
  • Ability to articulate value of new services and highlight the "bright lines" of healthcare regulation & compliance in the new telehealth landscape, and simultaneously solicit input from and listen closely to hear clients' needs to help Medivo develop unique products & services
  • High level of communication skills to manage internal and external expectations of the delivery of our high-value, new-channel healthcare services
  • Track record of personal relationship building and selling into life science brand teams with strategic services that aren't offered by agencies of record
  • Align with Medivo's values around "doing good for healthcare" and having fun together
  • Travel up to 50% for client and NYC office visits, if candidate is based off-site, minimum of one visit to NYC office per month

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree and healthcare advanced degree, e.g. PharmD, PhD, MD or RN, preferably graduate degree in business, healthcare administration or public health
  • 5-7 year successful track record inside a life science company
  • 3-5 year successful track record of selling services to life science companies
